Terms & conditions

Terms governing enrollment at Zelta Center, LLC and use of this website.

Last reviewed for the 2025–2026 school year. These terms summarize the center's published policies; enrolled families receive the full policy document.

Enrollment

All students, both new and continuing, need to register every academic year. Applicable tuition and registration fees must be submitted together with an application form. The registration fee is non-refundable: $60 for students who start in the first semester, $50 in the second semester, and $40 for students who start after April 1.

Zelta Center accepts all students ages 5 and above as of September 1, providing they agree to abide by our rules and policies.

Tuition and payment

School-year tuition is based on a 36-week program and is divided into nine equal monthly payments. The payment amount does not depend on the actual number of classes in a given month; each payment covers one month of classes, typically four.

Under the monthly plan, payments are due on the first day of each month beginning August 1. A $20 late fee is added if payment is received more than five business days after the first, excluding holidays, school vacations and closings. Under the semi-annual plan, fall tuition (September–December) is due August 1 and spring tuition (January–June) is due January 1.

For students enrolled after the beginning of the school year, the first monthly payment is calculated based on the actual remaining number of classes in order to catch up with the regular payment schedule.

Referral discount

A prorated $50 referral discount will be credited to your tuition for the following school year for each newly referred family that enrolls and completes one of our year-long classes.

Withdrawal and cancellations

Parents can withdraw a student from the center at any time for any reason. We ask for one month's cancellation notice. The refund amount is prorated based on the time of withdrawal and is processed only after the center receives written notice of cancellation.

Cancellations are processed on a monthly basis. If a family intends to cancel in December, the center must be notified no later than November 1. If the center receives notice November 15, enrollment is canceled as of January 1 — the next billing cycle after written notice. Tuition for the current month, the following month's tuition, and the registration fee will not be refunded.

There are no refunds for withdrawal after April 1. Summer program tuition is non-refundable after the first class.

Private and semi-private tutoring

There is no registration fee for private tutoring. Rates are $70 per hour private and $41 per hour semi-private; $80 and $55 per hour respectively for SAT/ACT, AP Calculus and AP Physics. Special rates apply to students who are concurrently enrolled in a class. Sessions must be scheduled and paid for in advance in blocks of four hours.

All private and semi-private classes must be canceled or rescheduled at least 24 hours in advance. A fee equal to one hour of tutoring will be charged for a class canceled or rescheduled less than 24 hours in advance, with the exception of weather-related cancellations or cancellations due to tutor availability.

Attendance and make-ups

Zelta Center does not offer make-up sessions for classes missed by students due to any circumstances other than classes canceled by Zelta Center because of adverse weather conditions. Tuition-paying students will receive class and homework material by email within 48 hours of a missed class.

Minimum class size

Zelta Center has the right to cancel any advertised class if fewer than three students sign up for that class, unless a family agrees to pay the private tutoring rate for one student, or the semi-private tutoring rate if two students attend the class.

Termination of enrollment

The center can terminate a student's enrollment at any time if the student's behavior in class is found to be consistently disruptive and inappropriate and the student does not respond to the teacher's requests and warnings to alter such behavior — parents will be informed on a timely basis of any such incidents — or if tuition payment is more than one month overdue. Any unused portion of the tuition payment will be refunded; however, the registration fee is not refundable and there will be no tuition refund after April 1.

Supervision, drop-off and pick-up

All students K–10 must be dropped off and picked up from the center premises by a parent or legal guardian. Please inform the staff if your child is carpooling with another parent.

All students in grades K through 5 must be brought to school by an adult no more than five to seven minutes before class starts. Students are collected three to five minutes before class by their teacher and brought into the classroom. Students may not be left unaccompanied at any time. Parents and caregivers of children with medical conditions must notify Zelta Center of the medical condition.

Parents and caregivers must pick up students from the school. All students must be picked up by a designated adult from the front of the school when students are brought out by teachers. No student under 12 years of age is allowed to leave the school premises unsupervised unless a Walk/Bike Home Release is signed by parents and the office personnel has the signed form on premises — no exceptions.

Classroom policies

We do not allow parents to observe the classroom during lessons because it disrupts the class. Please inform the center administration if there is a specific need for sitting in on a class. We encourage parents to discuss their child's progress with teachers, but please limit that discussion to the time before or after class; specific questions or concerns can be addressed privately by making an appointment.

It is very important that students do the assigned homework and bring it to school for the next class. No eating is allowed during class unless required due to a specific medical condition — please inform the administration if a condition exists. Students may bring snacks (no peanuts) and drinks and consume them during the break or after class.

Communication and closings

Email is the preferred method of communication with the center administration, though you may also call during regular office hours. Every student is given their teacher's email address so they can ask questions. All special announcements are made through email, so please make sure you provide a current email address and notify the administration of any changes.

Weather cancellations will be announced no later than 2 PM on a weekday and 8 AM on a weekend. Please use your own discretion if the center has not been canceled but the roads in your area are in bad condition. As always, safety first.
