Students age five and above as of September 1, through grade 12. Kindergarten meets one hour a week; the elementary track runs 90 minutes; grades 5 through 12 meet for two hours, and combined algebra-and-geometry students for three.

Year-long, weekly, September through June — a 36-week program. Classes are grouped by readiness rather than age alone. Homework is assigned each week and reviewed at the next class.

Small enough that every student is heard from. We won't run an advertised class with fewer than three students; if that happens, families may continue at the private rate for one student or the semi-private rate for two.

Yes — private and semi-private. There's no registration fee for tutoring, and sessions are scheduled and paid in advance in blocks of four hours. Rates are $70/hour private and $41/hour semi-private, or $80 and $55 for SAT/ACT, AP Calculus and AP Physics. Reduced rates apply to students already enrolled in a class.

Yes — as a year-long course rather than a short cram, two and a half hours a week. Former students have publicly reported scores including 780 and 790 on SAT Math and a perfect 36 on ACT Math.

The calculus track covers AP Calculus AB and BC material. Private and semi-private tutoring is also available for AP Calculus and AP Physics at the specialist rate.

Contact the office to discuss placement, then submit an application form along with the applicable tuition and registration fee. All students, new and continuing, register each academic year.

We talk with you about where your child is and what their school is covering, and place them accordingly. Contact the office to start that conversation.

Tell us. Placement is by readiness, and moving a student is a normal thing to do. If a class isn't the right fit in either direction we'll say so — sometimes tutoring is the better answer.

Class and homework material is emailed within 48 hours. We don't hold make-up sessions for absences; the exception is classes the center cancels for weather, which are made up.

By email, announced no later than 2 PM on a weekday and 8 AM on a weekend. Email is the center's primary channel for all announcements, so please keep your address current with the office.

Not during lessons — it changes how the room behaves. If there's a specific reason you need to, speak with the administration. Teachers are glad to discuss progress before or after class, and you can make an appointment for a longer conversation.

Yes. Every student is given their teacher's email address so they can ask questions between classes.

Students in grades K–10 must be dropped off and picked up on the premises by a parent or guardian; teachers collect younger students three to five minutes before class. Students are never left unaccompanied. No student under 12 leaves unsupervised without a signed Walk/Bike Home Release on file.

Yes — five weeks, twice a week. In 2026 it runs June 29 through August 3, covering grades 1–11, preparation for high school math, and contest-level mathematics.

Zelta is one independent center run by its founder, Jelena Liholiopa, who was principal of RSM Marblehead before that branch closed. She opened Zelta to keep teaching the same curriculum in person, and brought experienced teachers with her. Instruction is concept-first and taught in year-long sequences — not worksheet packets or drop-in sessions — and families frequently stay for many years.

Withdraw at any time with one month's written notice; refunds are prorated. Cancellations run on a monthly cycle, and the current month, following month and registration fee aren't refunded. There are no refunds after April 1, and summer tuition is non-refundable after the first class. Details are on the tuition page.
